The gift of birth: CARRIERS OF LIFE

Since April 13 at 8 p.m., Canal Vie subscribers have been able to demystify the process of surrogate motherhood thanks to the revealing documentary series PORTEUSES DE VIE. In this new series, viewers meet surrogate mothers, families and experts to gain a better understanding of this still little-known process.

Being a surrogate mother is a gesture of altruism that raises passions in Quebec! Is it legal? How does it work? Why do these women agree to carry a child for someone else? Are they paid to do so? All these questions will be answered in PORTEUSES DE VIE. In addition to the various testimonials presented in the series, audiences will follow the quest of Amélie Lemieux, who after the tragic loss of her two children, Romy and Norah Carpentier, murdered by their father in July 2020, longs to reconnect with motherhood. The eight-episode, 30-minute documentary series is directed by Madeleine Cantin and produced by Les productions J in collaboration with Bell Media. Olivier Languedoc acts as director-coordinator.
