– The legendary reality series is finally here! –
A real coup for Noovo, which has just acquired the format of the famous SURVIVOR reality show from owner Banijay. Produced in over 40 countries, SURVIVOR is one of the biggest television phenomena of the last 25 years, and is recognized as the flagship show that propelled reality TV around the world. The agreement with Noovo was negotiated by Jane Rimer, Senior Vice President of Banijay Rights in Canada. “SURVIVOR has been a global success for three decades, and we are very proud to be working with Bell Media to bring this tour de force to French-speaking audiences in Canada for the first time,” said Rimer. Suzane Landry, Vice President, Content Development, Programming and Information, Bell Media, added: “Noovo is continuing its commitment to offering high-quality, large-scale content where Quebecers can recognize themselves and take part in the event. With the acquisition of SURVIVOR, we’re reconfirming this promise and enhancing our already rich entertainment line-up.” SURVIVOR features participants trying to survive in an isolated natural setting. They must procure their own food, generate a fire for comfort and build a safe shelter. All this while completing endurance challenges, skill tests, mental capacity tests and riddles. Each week, one of them is eliminated until the winner, chosen by his or her defeated comrades, is crowned. Bell Media will be working with ToRoS Productions to produce a Quebec version of this smash hit, to ensure that it represents the people of Quebec.
