The long-awaited COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE makeover arrives on Crave

Meet the students of New Garden Hills Valley in a new format of ten 22-minute episodes.

Originally presented as a webseries, the COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE parody series has undergone a metamorphosis and now offers ten new 22-minute episodes, the first two of which will be available tomorrow, November 23, on Crave. Episodes 3 and 4 will be released on November 30; episodes 5, 6 and 7 on December 7; and the last three episodes on December 14. The series, written by Charles-Alex Durand and Sandrine Viger-Beaulieu and directed by Alec Pronovost, will also be presented this winter on Noovo on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., starting January 11. Fans of COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE from the very beginning will be delighted to return to the wacky world of the web series, while newcomers will find it easy to get started. So everyone will be able to take full advantage of this long-awaited new departure. COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE is a parody of American teen series that follows a group of high school students as they face the typical challenges of adolescence: body image, homosexuality, basketball, love triangles, bullying, drug-addicted parents, predators, conversion therapy, heart transplants… It’s not easy being 15!

“In short, COMPLETEMENT LYCÉE is the ultimate laugh! A real immersion in a totally crazy American town, inhabited by some of the most endearing caricatured characters. It’s a love letter to comedy. It’s a love letter to comedy. It’s a total blast,” says director Alec Pronovost.

Oscillating as ever between quirky parody and nostalgia, the new episodes of the series COMPLETELY HIGH SCHOOL will reunite fans with their favorite characters from the web series, played by Rosalie Vaillancourt, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, Katherine Levac, Patrick Emmanuel Abellard, Antoine Pilon, Bernard Fortin, Vincent Kim and Patrice Dubois, as well as introducing new roles played by Pierre-Luc Lafontaine, Nahéma Ricci, Éric Bernier, Sharon James, Paul Doucet, Macha Limonchik and many others. Julie Snyder, Jay Du Temple, Guillaume Lambert and Émile Bilodeau also make surprising cameos.

“It’s the best teen movie parody Quebec made in 2022. A parody where you really get attached to the characters and their hilarious tragic stories,” said actress Rosalie Vaillancourt. “Going to a longer format allowed us to parody even more clichés: the inspirational teacher who comes to change the lives of underprivileged thugs a la Dangerous Minds, the anonymous virtual pen pal a la Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff. Even if everything is parodied to the extreme, we still want to touch the audience’s emotional chords,” emphasize Sandrine Viger-Beaulieu and Charles-Alex Durand, co-writers of the series.

COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE is produced by Productions J in collaboration with Bell Media. Episodes of the webseries are still available on Crave and noovo.ca. Earlier this year, Rosalie Vaillancourt won the Dior Revelation Award for her role as Allie in COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE : LA WEBSÉRIE at the CANNESERIES international festival in Cannes. In addition to this prestigious recognition, COMPLÈTEMENT LYCÉE also received the Best Web Series award at RENDEZ-VOUS QUÉBEC CINÉMA, won two honors at PRIX GÉMEAUX, was named Best Script at MARSEILLE WEB FEST and received the Jury’s Favorite Web Series award at the ^41st FESTIVAL DU CINÉMA INTERNATIONAL EN ABITIBI-TÉMISCAMINGUE.
