Vendredi c’est Julie and Du lundi au vendredi c’est Julie are presented on France 2, with impressive ratings. The adventure opened many doors for the company. It was in France that Julie discovered Star Academy, a reality show that trains future music stars. She had only one goal: to convince TVA to broadcast the show. Julie Snyder’s flair is unrivalled, and she knows that this show will be a phenomenon!
Star Académie was launched in Quebec in 2003, smashing all the ratings. The show became a must-see. Productions J quickly had to diversify its operations to enable Star Académie’s up-and-coming artists to pursue their careers, opening a management department, a show department and a record label. For 5 seasons, Star Académie becomes an incredible springboard for both young artists who want to make a name for themselves, and established artists who want to promote their music.
With the adaptation of Star Academy, Productions J confirmed its know-how in format production, and over the years has produced adaptations of The Voice, America’s Best Dance Crew and I Can See Your Voice. The production company is also renowned for creating original programs where the limits are always exceeded: Dans ma caméra, Demandes spéciales, Accès illimité, Vol 920, La série Montréal-Québec and Occupation Double.
The company also stands out for its documentary productions, dealing with eclectic, polarizing and topical subjects. Highlighting social causes such as in vitro fertilization, the status of women in Quebec and vegetarianism, as well as many of Quebec’s biggest names, Productions J stands out for its commitment. These values shine through on screen, notably in La face cachée de la viande, Ça pourrait nous arriver, 75e: Elles se souviennent, Le monde est Plamondon, Lise Payette: Un peu plus haut un peu plus loin, Jean-Pierre Ferland: Le petit roi, Parole et Liberté, Nathalie Simard, il y avait un jardin, Seul avec Garou and most recently T’as juste à porter plainte.
In 2014, Julie Snyder and Productions J achieved the impossible: to unite the French-speaking world in over 200 countries with the show L’été indien, hosted by Julie Snyder and Michel Druker and broadcast on TV5, France 2 and TVA. With Céline Dion as godmother, the talk-show brings together Mika, Francis Cabrel, Marie-Mai, Xavier Dolan, Ginette Reno and Stromae, to name but a few.
Alongside its television productions, Productions J has also enjoyed success in the music world. Top of the radio charts and with 16 albums certified at least platinum, the record company is one of the best in the country! After 10 successful seasons on TVA, Occupation Double made a comeback on V and then Noovo. Reality TV becomes a true social phenomenon, making it #1 among 18-34 year-olds! Hosted by Jay Du Temple, the show reaches 5.4 million Quebecers with a weekly reach of around 2.7 million viewers. The new iteration of the show marks the return of television activities at Productions J, on hiatus since 2015. At the same time, the company is undergoing a major restructuring, abandoning its music and entertainment departments. Productions J’s little sister, Productions ToRoS, is born and will produce several shows for Noovo: Danser pour Gagner, L’Open Mic de…, Phil s’invite, Qui sait chanter? and the talk show La semaine des 4 Julie marking Julie Snyder’s return to hosting a daily show. In fall 2021, the company sets up shop for the first time on Canal Vie with Le Jour J, a show that follows Julie Snyder through the 1001 adventures surrounding her move, and the brand-new show Escouade Poilue.
For over 30 years, Julie Snyder has revolutionized Quebec TV with her tone, sense of humor, energy and innovative ideas. Her madness, verve, culture and rigor are recognized by all. As host and producer, Julie Snyder has left her mark on Quebec TV. Since Sortir on TQS, L’enfer, c’est nous autres on SRC, Le Poing J on TVA and La Semaine des 4 Julie on Noovo, Julie has conducted no fewer than 3,000 interviews!

For example, the Quebec version of Star Académie, which she hosted and produced for 5 seasons, was the biggest hit of the decade, setting audience and record sales records, and the adaptation of La Voix, which shattered records with an exemplary 63% market share!
