Phil Roy will be at the helm of QUI SAIT CHANTER, the Quebec adaptation of the FOX hit I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE, this fall on Noovo! Every Monday at 8 p.m., the comedian will accompany a contestant through the various stages of the musical game show. The goal? Discover the real voices behind the six mystery singers who will appear on stage. QUI SAIT CHANTER? is the only show where finding people with or without talent can pay off in spades!
At first glance, hosting a large-scale show like QUI SAIT CHANTER? takes me completely out of my comfort zone. And so much the better! I see it as an opportunity to challenge myself as a host, in a context where big fun and laughter will be my benchmarks. I don’t want to take myself too seriously, and I want to be myself on this set. And I know that the gang spirit with the other panelists, the excitement of the candidates and the horrible voices of some of the singers will make next autumn a less cold one. – Phil Roy, host – and thank God, non-singer
Each week, a contestant must discover the real voices behind six mystery singers. In addition to their intuition, they can rely on a panel of four personalities from the artistic world. The singers are people from all walks of life: a footballer, a golfer, a lawyer, a ballerina, a chef, a fireman, a policewoman and so on. In the first five stages of the show, the contestant must find the wrong singers, earning $3,000 each time he or she succeeds. In the final stage, the ultimate choice, the contestant can either keep the accumulated sum, or reset their total to zero and attempt to win $25,000. To win the grand prize, the last secret singer must be a good one.
WHO CAN SING? is based on the South Korean CJ ENM format. Distributed by Incendo in Canada and produced by FOX Alternative Entertainment, the competition is hosted by comedian Ken Jeong in the U.S. I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE has been adapted in 16 markets around the world, including Finland and China. Since its U.S. debut, the show has topped the charts – a first in nearly three years for a fall non-fiction series. FOX has just begun its 2nd season in the U.S., in Los Angeles. The Quebec adaptation is produced by Productions ToRoS, in collaboration with Bell Media.
